A mystery man has eneterd my family and I have hit the wall ( actually I can't even get the wall started)
In 1901 a John Tilling, aged 40, born Birmingham was a border at 13 Seymour Terrace, Sutton Street Aston Manor. The other people at this address were my relatives Hannah Cooper and her daughter Emma, aged 36 Amelia.
By 1903 John and Emma had married. I have just received their marriage certificate and Emma is now 38 and John is still showing as being 40. It gives his father's name as William ( deceased).
Information given to me by other forum members indicate they hada daughter about 1907 and I ahve sent away for this certificate. Information also shared was that they were living at 70 Sutton Street up to about 1920.
I had thought I would try and get some background info on John and have been unable to find him in the 1881 census.
Do any of the more experienced researchers have any idea of where to try next?
