Whitmore Road Bordesley

Hello,

According to the 1881 census, my second great grandmother, Kate Harris (age 1) with parents Alfred and Eliza Harris - are listed as living at 1 Whitmore Place, Bordesley. I’ve been trying to find out exactly where the house would have been, but I’m finding Whitmore Road…Lane and Street and I’m wondering whether they all refer to the same place?

Can anyone help me to pinpoint where Whitmore Place would have been?

I have been asked by a member for a map and any photos of the Whitmore Road area. I only have this one of Thomas Gunn;s oil and colour shop at 11 Whitmore Road, probably taken in the inter-war years. Also maps from the 1950s and from 1888, when the area was not so built up, and the house which gave the road its name is visible.

Many thanks Mike, here's a few others that might be of interest. See the bomb map, it just shows the level of devastation during the war when they were trying to hit the BSA.
Regards
Kevin.

Perhaps Butlers on Grange Road was a target too?
I recall that there were bomb 'pecks' on the corners of Eversley Road and Bertram road?
