Where is this ? Row of shops 4

Ian FOFB

Brummie yes ! Novice no !
Let's try another - again from an old postcard - where is this ?

I'm rooting for you Wendy - let's see if we can have a clean 'win' .

I,m thinking this one may be a bit closer to the town centre but my wild guess is the Pershore Rd by Cotteridge . Dek Ian i must say you have some really great postcards

Coventry Road, Small Heath between Grange Road and Muntz Street, looking away from town; it could be Langley Road on the right and Muntz Street on the left.

Dudley Road at the junction of Barford Road looking towards City Hospital, (then Dudley Road Hospital). I think that is St. Patricks church in the distance.

Hi David, 18" con i funghi takes a bit of eating. Sorry folks, off topic. If I am right in thinking that is Dudley Road then it must be a picture before 1919 when the Lee Bridge Tavern was built on the corner of Heath Street.

Yes i have to agree it is the early covrd as my first climse told me
many years ago i lived at 309 coventry rd oppersite the old rootes car factory
have a great day guys best wishes astonion

Yes, well done Dave - spot on - it is the Dudley Road - I did a Google Streetview walkthrough and that was the most likely looking location I came across. Here's the full postcard.
Ian.

Thanks Ian. It was the church and school in the distance that I recognised, I spent many an happy hour outside a sweet shop that was on the Dudley Road, the sweet shop would have been just about the spot where the photo was taken. Sherbet dabs, liquorice wheels and pear drops - all pulled out of a great big jar.
