Is the building at the bottom the old co-op and the passage is the one next to W.H.Smith. As someone said Union St.

It is Union St as davidfowler says, just outside the tax offices, by where Henry's department store used to be.

Agree Union Street. Looking down to Marks & Spencer on High Street. The photo is just down from Thorntons.

From the Clothes, looks like late 60s early 70s.
I reckon You could still drive in Cherry St, but Union St was Pedestrianised, as in the picture. Somebody tell me if i'm wrong.

As said before, Tax office on the right. Littlewoods on the left.

Now you all have started something, my better half says Union Street looking towards Corporation Street and I said towards High Street.
Now who gets the pedestal to stand on and the other is for the high jump ?

Towards High St. Otherwise there would be a crossroads. Take a look at Google Earth if you dont believe me.

Union Street, looking down to Marks and Spencers on the High Street. Didn't that boarded up shop on the right become BHS food hall?

Great ! That's saved a lot of argument, with your backing she has admitted that I am right, but I will not let her be for the high jump. It was a food hall but cannot remember if it was Littlewoods or BHS.

Hi folks, only just had the chance to check on the Forum and the popular vote is right - it is Union Street looking towards High Street. Buses are no longer allowed along it.
