OK since Phil referred to the 'temples' in the last thread, where was this one. Cropped to exclude the surrounding features but one or two of you might have used the facilites before 1990.

Sorry, just before Saltley Viaduct just by the bus stop (used to be buses 14, 55, 8, 26) by the gas works.
 
Thanks, I wasn't sure if the 56 bus was as early as this picture, the years all seem to roll into each other now.

It was the 56 to Common Lane, Phil - I did an apprenticeship at the 'Met' in the late 60's. Still the old chrome radiator Crossleys running then!

Lloyd thats old age for you, I can't even remember what bus took me to work and what bus took me courting. Was I glad when I got a license to drive.

Gosh i rember this the mens loo lol ... i used to sit ther with my mates penny for the guy .. rich pickings for us nechell girls , catch them as they got of the bus or on them, also the no8 bus stop was ther i caught that one go aston cross i worked H.P. thanx i love this forum ;-)
 
There was a garage on the corner if i remember right?
a bit further up was an entrance to the gas works,i remember the mass strike as well, it was mayhem.
i think most people have seen this pic it.
