Gone, but not forgotten.
This photo was taken in 1956, what is the name of the road it was taken in? I'm expecting this to be solved at the first attempt.

It seems a hint might be called for, Well this location is in an area I know very Little about. The far flung wilderness of North Birmingham.

As I've said the area is a bit of a mystery to me. I have said it was close to Kingstanding Circle, what I need is the name of the road so I can be a 100% sure.

A the circle, Kingstanding Road runs roughly North-South, Kings road roughly East-West, Rough Road runs off to the Northeast, and Kettlehouse Road to the Northwest. Is it the latter? The shops in the photo don't look exactly right for Kingstanding Road to me, but it has been some time since I drove past there.

Thanks I realise that now. I had a look but the phone went and Pete had a bit of bad news about one of his brothers and my mind drifted. We came past it Sunday evening as well. Bye. Jean.
 
It has just been pointed out to me that the correct location for this photo is Kettlehouse Rd. On checking I find this to be correct.

I'm afraid its another case of trusting what is written on the caption of the photo. Thats the worst thing about posting photo's when you know nothing about the area.

So the real winner of this little fiasco was Ray Griffiths. Well done Ray.
 
The 3 is supposed to represent hair, as the board won't let me put

on it's own. Turn your head to the left to see - a face with the tongue out, because I said Kettlehouse Road in post #16.

Sorry about that, but I have no undestanding of text speak, my granddaughter was amazed that I even understood how to return her text messages.

Sorry also for not giving you the kudos for the first successful answer. I can't understand why I overlooked you, perhaps it was because there was no bus or tram in the picture,

Ray Griffiths is a newish member I believe, who sent me a PM informing me of my error.

Hi I will double confirm Kettlehouse Road, I lived there 1943 - 1964. Thats Kingstanding Circle in the background, and to the right behind the row of posts is the Odeon Cinema, now a bingo hall. Opposite you can see the sign for the fish and chip shop, always called in there after a night at the cinema. I have a photo from the fiftys somewhere looking in the opposite direction, I will post it as soon as I find it. Goffy
