Gone, but not forgotten.
Right lets find out who the alcoholics are besides myself. What is the name of this pub and where is it?

I believe it is one of the lucky ones that is still standing today, but I do not know if it still serves beer, perhaps someone will know.

If its where I think, its still there, still serves beer as far as I know and would be popular with students. Getting warm?

Well that puts me in a quandry. It is the Black Horse on the corner of what I used to know as Woodcock St.

Who gets the kudos, glaciermint obviously knew where it was, but WINSTON named and located it. So you will have to share.

Thanks for that, but I did know it was Jennings Row. The trouble is in my day when I used to trudge up and down to Woodcock St Baths there was no Jennings Row. It was Prospect Row or even at a push you might say it was Ashted Row as it was close to the point where it changed from one to the other.

Phil, I have just looked in my old Wakelin's Street Guide, and you are correct Woodcock Street crossed Ashted Row at No.22. Jennens Row was near No.4 Masshouse Lane. The way the city has been altered over the years its no wonder we get confused.
 
Looking back at the first line of the thread I'm happy to let Winston take all the credit !!

Pill wish I'd seen this one before... as I knew the answer.
It was The Black Horse where my sister had her Wedding Reception up stairs. Her future Ma in law knew the Landlord well as she lived in Cardigan St and it was her local.
