Where is This? 27

Phil

Gone, but not forgotten.
A terrible photo, but surely an easily recognisable scene. So where is it? There’s no bus numbers on view and no buildings, but I would be willing to bet that this one won’t last long.

That's a good one. My first thought was Maypole, but it's somewhere dead level with a fairly important main road and no buildings, taken about 1930, I suppose. Is it at Browne's Green on the Hamstead Road?

Sorry, no right answers again. Why is it the ones I expect to be solved right away. never are. The ones that I think will take a long time are named straight away.

I'll leave things for another few hours, just in case, then I will give a clue or two.

motorman-mike,

spot on, my clue was going to be "close to water" Well done.

You really must stop taking those pills, read motorman-mike's reply and my previous post.

SORRY . Phil had to re-do some photo's I erased by mistake. Taken me ages. Should have caught up with the other guesses. Well. Is it by the Tower Ballroom Edgbaston? SORRY. Jean.

I missed the answer. It must be the pills Phil. I've just had new reading glasses. I think my problem is I try to do too many things at one time. Met up with Len Gregory earlier [transport minister] and am looking after a husband who has well and truely done his back in. He's not like the bramen on the site he only complains when he is in real agony.. Had to help him off the bench earlier and into the house. Am cooking pork and chicken now so will go and concentrate on one thing at a time.. Jean.

He's been fishing and gardening all the week on and off. No problem. He went back to Carlsberg Monday to collect someones beer allowance [24 cans of Carlsberg export and 24 large cans of Okacin] £20 not bad eh. He would insist on carrying the two packs through at the same time and he twisted awkwardly. Could barely get down the stairs this morning. Put my foot down and made him rest. Not like him at all. Thanks for asking Alf. Appreciate it. Jean. [thinks he's 21 still]
