Now somebody has got the right street, but given me a choice of two streets. Once they have given me the right street, they still have to give the location.
I'm sticking with Bull Street but will offer Bull Street junction with Temple Row or Bull Street near to where Corporation Street was cut through (stole that idea from Judy !!) Viv.
I think it's the buildings which were demolished for the Corporation Improvememt Scheme. So maybe it's actually a section of what is now Corporation Street. Will probably now look completely ridiculous in the eyes of my fellow historians, but go for it girl! Viv.
Why would you look ridiculous when you are absolutely correct. The row of shops are the ones that were demolished when Corporation St was cut through Bull St. If you look at this photo that was took some time later after they were demolished you can see on the right of both photos what appears to be the same building. The one that somebody thought might be a Wimbushes store. Well done Viv for your tenacity.
Thanks everyone. It's really down to the combined efforts of people who comment, elimination and having a go. Enjoy this sort of thing as everyone can get involved. Don't know how Phil keeps coming up with them. Thanks Phil. And cheers all ...
