Where is This? #197

Phil

Gone, but not forgotten.
It's been a while, almost 3 months now. So who can tell me where this is, and more to the point what stands there now?

im going to take a stab at this and say some where near broad st canal area....says she crossing everything lol

Nobody has hit it on the button yet a couple have been close, but I'm looking for a specific area. Mike you would have thought there might have been a brickworks in this area, but I cant think of one. Thats does not mean there was not one though.

Phil

to me it has the feel broad st way phil..but im usually wrong..would the works be an iron foundry..

You are mostly in the right area, but the wrong location. I'm looking for the name of a road and a specific building. Although a lot more has been added to the location since what replaced the car park.

Phil

Lyn I thought that too, but it seems too flat for that area, the roads up towards Matthew Boulton from there are quite steep, so I'm hedging my bets on the NIA and Cambridge Street, but that doesn't fit with the area having had a lot more added........................

Oh have had another look - its not the old Childrens Hospital, Broad Street/Five Ways, now the cinema complex, going into Bishopgate Street is it?
Sue

Did they put the Convention Centre on there that looks like Cambridge St in the Background.Dek

sue and dek i originally thought it had a look of around broad st and cambridge st is off there so you could be right..

Had another look at the photo it looks pre-war it wouldn,t fit the buildings were still on Broad St in the 60-70s.I,m just wondering if they built Bingley Hall there.Dek

Well the first one to mention Cambridge St was sistersue, but she hasn't quite got the right building or area.

Phil

I am rubbish at this and I am probably in the wrong place all together - but is it where the New Library is being built? I can hear you all laughing already!!

Nobody laughs at a brave attempt and you are a lot closer than anyone else so far, but not on the button. I would have given it to you for any one of two buildings although they were built at separate times.

Ooo Phil - I am so excited - I have never even been close before!!! Can I have another guess? The Repertory theatre - am I getting colder???

Pollypops

You can have as many guesses as you like, but we cant play hot and cold at this late stager of the game, by the way it's not the Rep.

Phil
