Where is This ? #186

Phil

Gone, but not forgotten.
For anyone at a loose end this evening, you might care to pass a moment or two trying to solve this. I'm afraid that I won't be able to reply to you answers until morning, well maybe midday, but please have a go.

The dual carriageway and the trees keep shouting Bristol Road Edgbaston at me but I know you would not put one on that was so easy.

Chester Rd near Tyburn Rd, with Pype Hayes park behind the bus? Best guess I can come up with.

Wherever it is, the road had only recently been made into a dual carriageway - the trees on the right hand are young, those on the left far more mature - and too large spread for tramway wires, so it's a road that never had trams down the centre reservation.

Phil happy new year to you. It reminds me of Stratford Road Hall green, as there are no tram tracks.

Not so sure about the Chester Rd as the Centre reservation looks to wide unless it,s been altered is that supposed to be a cycle way in the middle if so the cycle ways on the Chester Rd are on the inside of each carriage way. The suggestion of the Stratford Rd by Bob going toward the Robin Hood does look promising to me. Dek

Stratford Rd had tram lines up the central reservation, so I don't think it's there. Fox Hollies Rd is another possibility, particularly in the area opposite Greenwood Avenue.

It looks as if M Humphreys was the first one to get it right with Fox Hollies Rd. Well spotted Mike, I wouldn't swear to it but I think that is the entrance to Fox Hollies Hall the home of the Walker family that can be seen on the right.

Blimey that must be a first that I guessed correct, but it is a road I used to know quite well and it just looked familiar even though it was an old photo
