My memory is not as bad as yours fortunately Beamish , in my short life i have witnessed the winning of 1 FA cup 2 league cups 1 European cup 1super cup, Oh and a couple or so chapionships, The Villa of course have never won a cup for windscreens. Max

Evening Lyn, If it was Ann Street then I could have chalked up one success in Phil's long list of photographs , as it is my score is nil, nought, zero, eins, neant ect,.

I'm afraid that no one is near the mark yet, it wasn't part of an exhibition or film set. I was a proper building that actually failed at the purpose it was built for and spent most of its short existence as a manufactory or warehouse.

Ernie

Because it's you I will give you a clue, this building was quite close to one of the parts of Birmingham you have caused to be brought up more times on this forum than any other.

Phil

Would that be the Bullring could it have been used as a storage warehouse for veg or meat or both. Dek

phil...ernie knows duddeston and nechells pretty well so would it be near those areas....it does not look the type of building to be around there but im just clutching at very long straws now lol..

I know Ernie knows Nechells and Duddeston quite well but what is at the beginning of the title of the most viewed and posted thread on the forum. I am not saying that this building was in that area, but very close to it.

Phil

phil..this one gets more and more intriguing...come on ernie...you must know where it is..lol..

Because it's dragging on a bit. I will give another clue. I was born in the street where this was built, but that isn't going to help you much identify this building although it might help you locate it.

Phil

£2,400 to build,it must be this model in the Dollman Street stores.lol.
Moss.

Hi All,

I am confused. There is an Ann Street thread with similar pictures to those on this thread. One of the pictures on this thread quite clearly is marked Ann Street. It seems that Ann Street is now Colmore Row. Surely the original photograph is the Town Hall. If not it can only be Christchurch but it does not look like the photographs of that church that I have seen in the past.

Phil - Were you born in Loveday Street by any chance? Goodnight all. I am off to the land of Nod, but I do not have to climb the wooden hill to Bedfordshire.

Old Boy

Morning all

I'm afraid I have to say no to you all at the moment except Old Boy, yes I was born in Loveday St Maternity Hospital where this building stood in 1842. I'll even go a bit further and tell that this building measured 70ft x 50 ft
All we need now is the name & purpose of the building.

Phil

No Dek,

I don't think there was any connection with St Mary's in Whittall St.
