I think it looks a little like Gt. Hampton Row (but I could be confused - lol) I think that's the name of the road!! Travelling from Hockley towards Constitution Hill.

hi jules..hope you are well..gt hampton row is close enough lol think you mean gt hampton st...

lyn

Hi, this is my first post so please go easy on me!

Could it be Cherry Street, looking up towards the cathedral? I'm thinking that it's taken from outside of what is now Rackham's and the street on the left is Cannon Street - is the building on the left of the picture (the stationers) now Carphone Warehouse?

BTW it's great to find such a fantastic forum full of knowlegable and friendly people!

I agree with WhitmoreReans - It is Cherry Street going from Corporation Street towards Temple Row and St Philips.

my second thoughts are with maggie its along what i know as contution hil
because its the corner stationery thats toilimgwith my mind but that shop for some reasonis also telling me its inthe city and that statiomary corner window was a very large store and it specialised inall kinds of pens it reminds me of going into this shop when i was a lad and i think maggie is hot on the trail
i do retract myfirst choice i did jump the gun and it could be by goliaths grear hamptom st coming down from snow hill along constitution hill towards hockley brook

WhitmoreReans

First I will say welcome, and then I will add "didn't he do well with his first post". It is Cherry Street. Well done you.

Phil
