Does anybody remember the westend on suffolk street up from what used to be the night out. It was open on, if i remember rightly, saturday afternoon and on a tuesday night serving only soft drinks.I remember a black lad named spencer who taught us all the latest dance moves,he was a very nice lad and made friends very quickly. The music was all motown and soul, the dance floor was sprung and there were sofas and tables around the edge of the dance floor.

Great days indeed and great mates great comradeship , the likes of which won't be seen again

Yes, Spencer was a great guy liked by all. What about Terry and Tony ? Freddy Shepard and the rest on Saturday afternoon, Sunday night and Tuesday night. Great times, I loved the place!

Which Tony were you asking about Terry Draper unfortunately passed some years ago, it knocked me sideways I don't mind telling you I'd known him since junior school , then secondary school and when I was doing my apprenticeship he was doing the same with the same company he joined the gang at a job in town . Not really sure if he served all his time as apprentice I know he and his brothers got into fruit and veg and opened a wine bar not far from where they grew up .
