Born a Brummie
Can anyone tell me about Wells Street please?

A friend told me today that her Grandfather was a horse & cart delivery man who lived in a yard there and is wondering if it still exsist.

Her Grandfather's surname was FERRIDAY. is there a way to look him up? I would think it he would have been born around 1870 - 1900 but I think she said he was born in Telford & moved to Birmingham. I don't have a christian name for him.

thank you xx

There is a Walter & Mary Ferriday at 39 Wellesley St in 1925, but, looking at the map there doesn't seem to be any sort of yard where a cart could be kept . They don't appear there in 1922 or 1927 either

Thank you all for the reples. I hope to see my friend over the weekend sometime so I will ask her for more details such as her Grandfathers first name & his approx birth date & where he was born.
May I get back to you then to ask more questions please?

hi rowan if you can get a few more details off your friend im sure that a census look up would sort things out for you..
