be interesting to know what no new st viv...had the photo been taken during ww2 i would have said it was tape on the windows as protection against bomb blast but i dont think they did that during ww1 so probably just decoration

I can't find them listed in Kelly's in New Street (at the moment)

I think it says "late of Hyams and Co New Street" - so I am not sure this shop was in New Street

I’d assumed that they were suppliers to Hyam’s and not actually based in the shop. (Don’t think there were commissions for other companies based in large departmental stores like Hyam’s at the time. But could be wrong). Again I’d assumed that they moved on (perhaps when Hyam’s was taken over?) to open their own premises. A lot of assumptions ! Viv.
