The Stourbridge born ' prince of dribblers' interestingly started his career and
ended it with a German connection . He sgned for the Villa at nineteen years
of age just before Christmas 1900. His first game against Berlin in January 1901 saw the Villans triumph by 6 goals to 2 . It was always known that the Hawthorns was Joe's favourite ground during an illustrious period of history at Villa Park. Seven English International appearances together with 2 F.A Cup medals (1905 and 1913) and a Championship Division One award in 1910 crowned his fair head with glory. A coaching appointment at Grimsby in 1920-21 preceded his last footballing engagement at Rot Weiss F.C. in 1931 Link up soon WAK
