Varley Road

Hello, I'm very new to this forum, and am looking for some information on the above if anyone is able to help please. I've had a look for Varley Road & it looks like the houses are all brand new. I've got a picture of relatives which I think was taken mid 1930s ... I know the family lived in Varley Road in 1939 & I'm trying to work out whether the location of this slightly earlier photo could be Varley Road. Can anyone point me to where I might be able to see photos of Varley Road in the 1930s please? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

There was a lot of house building done around that area a few years back, so as you suspect the houses seem to have been built recently.

Varley Road appears on the 1930 electoral roll but not in 1925. The first map it appears on is 1937, though the previous one to that is a few years earlier 1920. Then there are just fields.

Finding earlier photos of roads can be quite hit and miss unfortunately.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate your response. I did do a bit of a search before posting & did see a thread with the road mentioned ... but it seemed to be quite an old thread & even though it referred to a photo I couldn't spot how to access it. Perhaps I'll try to find that again, post a reply (if the thread is still open) & see if anyone who posted originally can help.
