hi folks had a bit of a clear out and found a 2002 calendar depicting pubs....pretty sure we have seen some of these before but just in case i will post them all as there maybe a couple of new ones..

this is definately a new one to me can just see spring hill library in the distance

coach and horses..spring hill/george st west.just behind the pub you can see the roof of st peters church which is still there

erdington arms..slade road/gravelly hill..1969 looked a nice pub but was demolished and the armada pub built in its place..i know what i would prefer to see

2 for the price of one now...the original crown and cushion perry barr soon to be demolished and behind it the newly built one to take its place..of course that one has gone now as we are on our 3rd crown and cushion..

the vine..summer lane.think i am right in saying that out of all the pubs on the lane this one was the only one with the offical address of summer lane..all the other pubs and i think there were about 16 in the 1960s were on corners..dated 1967

"Erdington Arms", known as the "Muckman" due to the refuse collectors taking a break there.
Drank there a few times when living on Gravelly Hill.

Does any remember the little pub in Clifton Road Balsall Heath between Moseley Road and the railway bridge. My aunt and uncle lived at number 50, right next to the bridge and the alley to Lime Grove and I passed it hundreds of times. My memory is that it was called the Prince of Wales but I think there was another pub by that name in Clifton Road.

The four pubs on Clifton Rd were The Prince of Wales (the one you mention) Just past the Imperial Cinema, The Railway on the corner of Malvern St, the Gladstone on the corner of White St and the Clifton at Ladypool Rd. All of them were on the same side of the road and I'm pretty sure they are all closed now.

This used to be a good pub in the late 60's when a lady called Rose ran it.

This was the last remnants of the Beeches pub Northfield,one of my favourite pubs in the late 60's, gaffer was Charlie Mason.Don't know who took the photo,so cannot give credit.
