It's me old office. Francis Nicholl's Grocery Division. It just rotted away for years whilst the city made up it's mind what to do. I know the project is under way now and have seen elbrown's photos on Skyscraper City. Part of the Francis Nicholl's small warehiouse and upstairs office..just two, where I worked were accessed by a great staircase. The building was neglected back in 1959 and yours truly used to take a wet mop to the lovely but dusty staircase and think"This building must have been amazing in it's day." The long term history of that area, as much as I have been able to find out, is very interesting. This place has been saved but many others haven't.

hi jennyann...well i never fancy you mopping the stairs of that building.i bet you never thought at that time it would cause so much debate many years later.. thank goodness that its being saved....

I remember that I used to call on a Fruit and Veg wholesaler in Upper Dean St in the 1960`s. I think they were called T.C.Brown. Anyone remember them ?

Hi Doug: There are some photos somewhere which I will look for of T.C. Brown's on Upper Dean Street.
I think they took over the Francis Nicholl's site after they left.

It's in much better condition now.

For years I was wondering what they were going to do with it, being so close to the Bullring.
