Uplands Cemetary Smethwick

Hi Does anyone have a detailed map of Uplands Cemetary Smethwick. We are trying to track down an Uncle's Grave. The Council sent me a map, however, it is not detailed enough for us to locate the Grave. We have already made a visit to locate it without success and do not want to repeat this. We are looking for a Ron Cutler who died May 29th 1990 and was buried Plot I Division C. Grave No: 228. He was cremated, so don't know whether this would make a difference.

Welcome JCutler.
This map was posted to an existing Uplands thread. I don't know if it will help. There is an area for cremations, but I know many cremated remains were scattered on existing graves.

There used to be an office at the extension called 'Thimblemill Cemetery' you could try there? Or ask a gravedigger in Uplands. The staff are generally helpful.
I don't know of a better map. It is hard to find graves at Uplands. Good luck, Stokie.

When I was searching for WW1 graves at The Uplands I contacted the stonemason on Manor Road opposite the main entrance. They kindly gave me the attached map but I don't see any Division C - they are all numbered sections. Perhaps if you ring the stonemason they will have a better understanding of the layout. I wish you well in your endeavours. Of course there is another part to the cemetery opposite the entrance on Thimblemill Road. Perhaps Division C is over there?

Thimblemill Road is at the top and Manor Road is at the bottom on the map attached
