The buildings along the short Union Row, in Handsworth, still has a few early houses, despite appearing neglected with some boarded up. The B&W image shows a terrace of houses - these may be the ones which still remain today.
Most buildings in the second B&W image seem to have been replaced and now give the appearance of rear entrances.
Union Row was once the location of the Congregational Chapel. It was demolished in the 1970s, and, since 1972, the land has been occupied by Shri Guru Ravidass Bhawar Gurdwara.
