Parents used to use the Union; I was born 1945 and in childhood days until early teens used to sit on the step of the smoke room (?) entrance. Along with father, uncle, brother-in- law I was in the fishing club.

My memory is awful on at least names, George/Elsie King - Harry Brophy – Brookes. George and Brookes helped run the fishing club, I was BAA member representing then club for a couple of years, circa 1963/65.
The King family lived in 12 Defford Place, came off Clifford Street the Burberry Street end.

I’ve never been in the Gunmakers, always told to keep away from it, which of course acted as a temptation, but I never did.
We feel there is a family link between Brookes and George/Elsie King or Harry Brophy, do you know of one and or whereabouts Brookie lived?

The 2 men on the left are my Uncle Fred Deeming, and his brother.
My Uncle Clal Marshall lived at 159 Berners Street in the 50s and the Union was a popular pub with my family. My Mom and Dad had their wedding do there in 1957.
