Hi folks. Had a post off Lloyd Penfold who is a member of the forum and well known by most of us. This is the post.............
"Hi Chris. The plan to re erect the Tyburn Road Coat of Arms is now under way, a site has been agreed, foundation hole dug and the concrete Plinth it will stand on has been cast - but (there is always a 'but', isn't there?) we have decided that we are going to have a specialist to construct the stonework for insurance and safety considerations, which is going to cost about £4000. We could do with help and ideas on the fundraising and considering your input into saving the stonework I wondered if you had any ideas on how to go about it. All our current fundraising efforts are going into the restoration of a 1931 Birmingham Corporation bus, which when finished in about 3 years will have cost around £300,000. If you do have any ideas please get back to me first, as the trustees have to authorise any use of the museums name in cases like this."
If anyone has any ideas for fund raising let us know.I suggested raffle tickets.
