Hi All,
I have enjoyed the TV series "The History of Game Shows" featuring our dear Wendy and look forward to the fourth episode on Sunday. It reminded me of my few TV appearances. First was a game show produced in Glasgow and shown at teatime on Sundays. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of it or that of the presenter who was a well known Scottish comedian. It was a type of word game Out of 4 contestants I was the third to be eliminated and came home with £50 and a set of Edinburgh Crystal of which only the decanter remains. The winner, a lady, won £500 and a holiday in Switzerland.
Later I appeared in 15 to 1 but failed miserably being the first to be eliminated. The debacle put me off appearing in game shows ever again. However the winner on that ocasion was a nurse from Northfield so the honour of Birmingham was vindicated.
Finally I appeared in Question Time at Pebble Mill and put a question. I forget what I asked but remember hurrying home so that I would see myself on TV.
My wife and I also attended a Songs of Praise at St Pauls Church in Birmingham but the cameras never picked us out.
What appearances have you made? Come on. Do not be shy.
