These houses were quickly erected to meet housing demand in 1964.

What is the origin of the name ‘Turfpits’?

I think we have spoken of this before, maybe on the Golden Cross thread. Before Witton Lodge Road was laid, Turfpits Lane ended abruptly and I believe there was a Turfpits Farm.
