Many thanks for loading issue number 12 of Tubes News because the front page shows a photo of 2 people who both won b/w TVs in the works suggestion scheme the chap on the right is my Dad Bob Collingwood who would always roll his sleeves up and get stuck in.Hence the dirty overalls.

Once again, thanks Jeremy. There are a couple of people in some photos i recall. On page 2, "One Of The Last" i remember Jack Fairweather, Nobby Richards, & Roy Bigland. I was in same office as Jack, Nobby moved to become Head of Employment Dept, just before i moved up to Scotland, and Roy was the boss in the forge dept office. Great days. Also, on page 4, the first person on left, of the photo "The Last Dance" is Harry Brough, who was my very first boss, in the Production Control Office when i started work after leaving school in 1964. Lovely to see these old pictures that i never knew existed, thanks to yourself. Please keep them coming.

More names recalled. On page 2, Roy Bigland, who was a boss in the forge office when i worked there. And on page 3, the sad news of the death of my friend Ray Cook. As i have mentioned before, Ray got me the job a the social club's youngest steward. He was a great guy, and really did suffer with illness for a number of years. Glad to say I will never forget him.

Good oh, will load up more next week; page 2 - Bazaar gift - TI seems to have been a great supporter of the Beatrix Nursery in Handsworth, their contribution's are mentioned in other editions, a link here with picture - https://www.hiddenlives.org.uk/homes/HANDS02.html - closed in 1974.

Thanks again Jeremy. This time on page 2 is a picture showing aother guy i knew well. Ted Bilston. He was a funny guy whenever he popped in the forge shop floor office. Remember one time when i was in there, and a lady had come in from another department for something, and it wa just as Ted walked in with his bacon roll in his hand. He then proceeded to do his usual party piece of dropping the roll on the floor, and pick it straight up, and begin eating it. You can imagine the look on the lasses face. Great laugh was Ted.

I really am pleased that you get so much pleasure from them, if you would like any of the originals then do let me know, not sure what I'll do with them once copied, certainly won't be throwing out, back in 'storage'...

Jeremy. These old Tubes News that you regularly post, to me, are very special. I have read so much, and seen so many faces in the articles and photos, that i recall, which is fabulous after leaving Tubes Ltd, and Brum, in 1977. I really find it all facsinating to be able to read all this history, thats means a lot to me, as i really enjoyed my 12 years of working there. I really can't thank you enough.
