trying to find info about Brian Anthony Tooth

Liz Baker

master brummie
Is there anyone that might be able help? I'm looking for info about a family member Brian Anthony Tooth born 9 Sept 1938, not sure where! He died in Birmingham May 1983 Aged 45 he was buried in either Hodge hill cemetry or Lodge Hill cemetry. I know that he lived in Winson Green for many years and also had a brother named Frankie. This is all the information that I have. How will I find out where he was born and any other family members. Any help would be great for our family tree. I would go into the libary but have trouble with mobility at the moment. Many Thanks Liz :)

hi liz
just reading your thread of request about the toothie family
i knew frankie many years ago and he was also a good friend of my friend
and he used to go out with my mates sister
whom lived in lansdowne street winson green then i courted his sister
frankie used to go out with joyce phillips joyce used to live in wembly london
then moved down to winson green with her mom and her sister edna
my mate george phillips and frankie was great mates and worked together
in the electro plating business some where down by dollman street
which i think it was around the back area of the blues ground
or not far from coventry rd end by the blues
way back in the sixtys frankie kept coming around to see the family
even thou i was with joyce
i am trying to recall what year frankie died, it was after george phillips got blown up
with his own car i think it was mid seventy,s to the end that frankie died
at this precise time i cannot recall where they where living
but i knew frankie very well a very nice guy he was abit of a hard man to come across like is brother
i know where joyce lives today in birmingham so i will try and make contact with her
and she would definately know the in, and outs beleive me she is years younger than me and made of abit differents kind of wood to me
if you get my drift , she has got a great mind
but i think you will find they died in the 70,s
liz i will come back as soon as i can as i will be going to birmingham tommorrow to selly park so i will nip across to bordesley green and see if i can catch her okay,
best wishes astonian ;;;

Hi astonian,
Thanks for your reply. Just told my huband about Frankie, as far as he can remember he was at Brians funeral. So we think he must have died after 1984. Tying to find out family tree and as much info as we can get. so would be good to get as much info as we can so thank you. Will be waiting to hear.

Other Tooth/Bailey children
Frederick 1944
Rita 1946.
Perhaps Frankie was a nickname.

John Tooth married Rose Bailey March 1923 ref. 6d 343

Alberta thanks, all these things, are really helpful and hopefully will lead us to knowing our family tree. any info would be g8 to know.

Liz have some good news for you and lots of info first hand but I will have to post some of it in a private message. All the best and take care. Jean.

Astonian I have found out that George Phillips was killed while repairing an Indian lady's car who owned a newsagents shop. There was a crack in the petrol tank and it ignited. Jean.

There were some Tooths living at 132 New Summer St during the 30s: John and Rose. They were living along with James and Clara Hodgson. Does this help?

Thanks Dar I noticed that the other day on the other thread when I was reading the names of the then residents This thread had a very happy ending as Lizzies husband Steve was re-united with Sandra his step sister. Maybe Lizzy will put the photo's on for us sometime of if not I will ask Sandra to mail me them and I will put them on for them is they wish. Take care and thanks. Jean.
