Troop David

Exiled Brummie
I'm trying to help my Uncle regarding an old friend of his when at Josiah Mason's. My Uncle was a Day Boy but David Troop was a Border. They were both born in 1928 (or at least my Uncle was and thinks David was the same age as him).
Unfortunately David was killed whilst a member of the ATC at the age of 17, 18 or 19. He was a passenger in an Avro (possibly) when it crashed. He is supposed to be buried in St Barnabus Erdington.
I have already been to the Churchyard to tidy up my Grandparents plot after contacting a very helpful lady who met me and let me through the builders' gates. Also I have access to the Plot Records at BMSGH so will check those out when I'm next in The Midland Institute.
I've looked at Ancestry as well as FreeBMD but can't find any record in Births or Deaths of said David.
Wondered if anyone has some ideas which would help?
Cheers (and looking forward to meeting you lot at the 60's Evening.
David

Re: David Troop

I also had look through Ancestry using Troop/Troope/Troup/Troupe

In deaths from 1944-1949 I found no young men of these names in the index

In the births around 1928 I came across David Troupe born Sculcoates in 1929 but he died in 1930.

Re: David Troop

Thanks Alberta, I'm seeing my Uncle later today and I'll ask again about the spelling but last time he was adamant it was correct. Just wonder if I could find more from the gravestone.
