Tram images & Birmingham

Browsing through some old mags and came across this by Eric Bottomley.
Wonderful painting, and just to show how good the artist is I've re-produced it in antique, could almost be a photograph.

I had this photo as my opening page for several months. It so full of detail you can keep on finding things you didn't notice before.
This is Aston Cross as I remember it even from 1972. Great painting in every way for Brummie's to view. Thanks for posting it.

Picture 3 is looking up the Parade from newhall st on he left.

Not a wonderful knowledge of the area, just thought I'd recognised the photo. The info was from the captions. One of them wasn't the same photo, but taken from the same place. Here they are with captions

Tram 17 Route 6 Perry Barr - Birchfield Rd (agree with moss g). It's a post - WW2 shot (the bus has adverts - only trams carried ads pre-war), a 1950 phone book gives "GH Watts, prams, 442 Birchfield Rd" (between Bragg Rd and Aston Lane I think)
Tram 308 Route 17 Hall Green - Stratford Rd (City boundary) 17 terminus - that location today...
Tram ??? Route 17 Hall Green - Also Stratford Rd, possibly just south of Highfield Rd Jcn - the properties shown have now long gone. Tram heading southbound (from city).

Hi ragga,i think picture #4 is Perry Barr with the New Crown & Cushion in the background.Post #2 is also Perry Barr with The Birchfield cinema in the background.Moss.

No, the preserved one is car 395, this is car 152 in Witton depot, still in running days - in fact it is still in the pre-war livery with cream rocker panels.
