I wonder if anybody knows anything about Thomas Leech and his boot factory or shop? He is the father of my grandmother, Florence Annie adams (nee leech birth1885) and his occupation was "boot manufacturer".
The address of Florence's mother, that is Thomas's wife is Sarah Jane Leech (nee Sheldon)was 7 george Street ,Hales hill, Dudley so presumably this was Thomsas's address also.
Florence Annie leech married wilfred george adams in 1916.
Sarah Jane Leech was born in approximately 1856 and married in 1883, so the address as above would have been valid in that year
I thought my mother mentioned a shoe shop, but the marriage certificate of sarah jane states "boot manufacturer"
The family is confusing in terms of christian names : my mother was jane at birth but always called jean and her father is wilfred george adams on on one document and george wilfred on the other, and my mother referred to sarah jane as jane only ,so Thomas leech could have had used a different christian name.
At some time Sarah Jane lived in belbroughton, so Thomas will almost certainly have lived there too, but I've no idea when.
