Thomas Family, Golden Hillock Road, Small Heath

The reason for posting this request is that i have come to a complete stop on my geneology research.
Grandparents lived in Golden Hillock Road, Elijah & Selina Thomas.
Any info forthcoming would be very appreciated.

Selina and Elijah were living in Lower Trinity Street in 1939 and by 1945 they were living in Golden Hillock Road. I have attached the electoral rolls for those addresses.

Barrie.

edited to add; it looks as if they were living with Selina's dad in Lower Trinity Street.

There are 3xA5 pictures of Golden Hillock Road in John Bick's excellent but inexpensive book Old Small Heath. My scanner is offline at the moment so if anyone else has a copy of this book & a working scanner perhaps they will be kind enough to post the pictures. The creation of the bypass meant that many houses were demolished so it is necessary to rely on old pictures rather than Google Street.
Good luck with your research, Droog.

This is possibly Henry Gossage on the 1901 census, his wifes name is Selina, so they could have had a daughter of that name later. Do the names of the other children sound familiar?

It might pay to but credits on the 1911 census.
Selina was born in 1902 at which time Selina snr would have been 49/50 so i would imagine that the Selina 1902 is a grandchild.

1901 28ct 3 house,Darwin Street
Elijah thomas age 31 b. Abingdon Berks,Bricklayer
Annie age 37
Elizabeth 6
Maggie 5
Annie 1
Elijah 1 month
all born Birmingham.

Elijah registered in 1866 so would have been 35 in 1901.

Hi,
The Henry and Selina Gossage on the above 1901 census are part of my family. I have no Selina born to them on my branch but if it does turn out to be one of your Gossages I have a fair few generations here up to present day.
