Thomas Evans Carpenter & Joiner

I am researching Thomas Evans, born 1851 in Newport Shropshire.

In 1851/61/71 he was living in Loxton Street, occupation Joiner.

1881/91/1901, Gt Brook Street, Carpenter & Joiner.

Thomas's grand daughter thinks that he ran his own carpentry buisiness. Can anyone trace such a business with the name Evans?

Sue
I take it that when you say a carpentry business with the name Evans, you mean Thomas Evans. Will have a look for you, but wanted to make sure of this as the first year I looked at, 1855, there were three Evans, carpenters, though none were Thomas

Yes, that's right - Thomas Evans. Maybe he was employed and didn't have his own business. Thomas's father was a cowman/milkman so he didn't inherit anything from there.

Hi
I have decendants that were in the carpentry and building trade. I have recently been given this information taken from a family business card.
SA 181 289 Heath Street Established over 50 years.
I am not sure who this relates to. My family names are Edward Edwards (carpenter) George Williams & Alan Williams (carpenter) Charles Williams (Bricklayer)
Both families resided in the Winston Green area and are linked by marriage.
Have not been able to fine any entries in the trade directories so far.
Can anyone help.
Circa 1850-1920
Thanks Annie
