Hi all, I am researching Thomas Derrington who lived at no. 9 Whitehead Road in 1870's. I'm hoping to find a photograph of the property which I think has now been pulled down.
Also any photographs of Thomas Derrington & his wife Ann Yardley 1860's/70's

Hi Pedrocut, yes I have more info. Thomas was born 1810 and died 1874 where he died in Whithead rd Aston.
He was married to Ann Yardley and had sons
Thomas Frederick and Albert+ more….
He and his family are buried at St. Mary’s Handsworth.

Notice that in the 1871 Census it shows him at Whitehead Road and as a House proprietor. His son being a gun stock dealer. They had a servant.

In 1886 Number 9 was To Let. Good House, large garden, capital workshop: back entrance to workshop. Rent £19 10s.

Photo showing No. 9, there are a few other images of Whitehead road at www.leroux.co.uk/aston but this is the only one I can find showing No. 9.

I'm not sure if the house numbering was different in 1870, I will check the 1871 census.

There are no property numbers on the 1868 Kelly's but some names seem to occur in the same order as the 1878 PO Directory.
