Daisy Farm was always full of bricks and stones sticking out of the ground, Waggon Lane, one of its pitches had a dip in it, as you was running you would suddenly take off, painful when you hit the ground during the early season games, Selly Oak or Selly Park, had a 45 degree slope on it, when it was wet you spend more time on your bum at the bottom of the slope, I would love to see these over paid players play on some of the pitches we had to play on.....but the worst one was the pitch on Blew Street, well it wasn't a proper pitch as such, it had two goals at either end, and a mass of concrete in between, team numbers could vary from 5 a side to 30 , just a mass of bodies of all ages playing together, seen many a split head, broken collar bones, cut knees and elbows, just a blood bath at times.....I just I was there having a game now....
