The White Tornado

Mayfield

Burbury Brummie
Funny how memories just appear from no where... I was watching the television and my son was flitting between channels during the interval when the film Tornado appeared.

This triggered a memory, as a child I remember the advertisement for White Tornado and the associated marketing campaign in which an appropriately dressed person drove around random streets, in random locations knocking on peoples doors asking them if they used the product? If they could produce the product as proof, they received money.

Excitement erupted in our street (Defford Road in Lozells) in the 60's when the White Tornado man appeared... Unfortunately he didn't select our house to call on, mind you if he had have done, my mom would have had to show him Vim...

Question: What was the White Tornado product? Mayfield

That would be Ajax Liquid. What would the Health and Safety police do about this "Smell the Ammonia" advert nowadays?
