Did anyone use the Tavern In The Town in New St late 60's?
Around the juke box in the corner was the the place to meet.

Yep 68/9, and remember the jukebox. The last song I played on it was Cheri Amour. Used to work at 5 Ways and often popped in there on my way across town to get home. It also used to be a meeting place on Saturday lunchtime for the football team I played for (soft drinks only of course).

I used most of those Town centre pubs (& more) in the 70's myself. Mostly on passing through town from work. The 'Tavern' between 1972-74, Temple Bar 1975. Always started off in The Cabin. After being on a building site all day it was great to see all the shoppers coming in for a 'quick one' on their way home. Later Shop workers after locking up and later again 'night-time' Pub & club goer's, in their glad rags, kicking off the night!
