On the 1891 cencus, my husband's great grandfather, James Oliver Whitaker, is shown as the licensee and manager of The Royal Oak, 100 Summer Rd. Edgbaston, St Thomas's. Does anyone have a photograph of this pub?
Also, by the 1901 cencus and also in the 1905 Kelly's, he is shown as licensee at 9 The Parade, St. Paul's, but it doesn't say the name of the pub. Does anyone know which pub was at this address?

Can't find a name for the pub at 9, The parade. It had disappeared by 1921. James was not at Summer Road in the 1888 kellys, nor listed in it. He was there in the 1892 issue, but had entirely disappeared in 1896. At The parade in 1905, but it had been taken over by the illustrious-sounding Marmaduke V.Beard by 1908 edition. He is not listed at all in that edition. I did check the other possible spelling (kk) also just in case.
