The Rose Inn on Goad's 1895 insurance map. This was at the junction of Digbeth and Allison Street.

Pleased to find this. My great aunt is listed in the 1901 census as being a visitor at the Rose Inn, Digbeth, aged 5! We started ‘em young in our family. And her parents weren’t with her.

I couldn’t think where the pub might have been. Pleased to see it’s not far from the Manzil Tandoori, which was a favourite haunt of mine in the 1980s.
