The Prince of Wales, 86 Coleshill Street.

G-ORDY

Brummie babby
Afternoon all

The 1911 Census shows that my Grandfather's sister (ie my Great Aunt), Doris Russell, was employed at the above establishment as a nursemaid. She was aged 14, the landlord was Frederick Alfred Bradley Lovekin who had a young son (John Alfred Bradley Lovekin)

I can't find any information about the pub and my Great Aunt seems to vanish from the records after 1911.

If anyone has any info on either the pub, the landlord or my Great Aunt I'd be interested to see it!

Thanks
Gordon

There are some photos of the Gaiety cinema here and Phil (sadly no longer with us) I think is saying the Prince of Wales is on the opposite corner (Coleshill St & Gem St)...

And the fifth picture here just shows the front of the Gaiety on the left and so I think the Prince of Wales would be just beyond...
