It is lovely, Momma P. A couple of years ago forum members went to the back to backs and met in The Old Fox. :)

That was where I went when taking the pictures as I have never been in a Back to Back my husband had and he had our tour in bits laughing at his stories. I think thats a nice idea to meet up and visit places. Have you been to the Jewllery Quarter museum? its amazing!

the fox

Yes Moma a lovely pub, with all the stars photo's on the walls most of them signed
My friend's mom and dad ran the pub late 50s early 60s Tromans my mate Graham Troman had a set of drums upstairs we used to practice up there,he had a brother Maurice Troman

Happy Days Mossy

A great pub. My husband always meets his mates there when he goes to Birmingham. The food's quite good too.
I used to collect autographs and spent many hours outside the Hippodrome in the fifties. Saw loads of 'stars' going in and out of The Fox. Sadly, I was too young to take advantage of the pub then! My husband goes there when he meets his mates in Birmingham, says it's one of the few central pubs that are "proper pubs". I know what he means.

I do remember someone preasurising Pat once. Maybe it was him?. she went out with Pete's younger friend about ten years ago but he found another love. bye. Jean.

hi gee gee. would that be pat and hubby ray you are on about who ran the fox. wales.

She must have married in the last eight years Wales. Unless she kept her light under a bushell. When we call by I don't like to ask as she was very upset when Dave dumped her for Tracy. Jean.

hi jean. i dont think we are talking about the same pat. the one i am on about ran the fox about 30 years ago with hubby ray. my ex hubby rented a garage opposite to do his car repairs. they later ran the pelican in newtown and i worked for them for a bit when my marriage floundered. wales.

Not sure about that Wales but after the i rish celebration she had a large piece of boiled bacon left and insisted we took it home for supper. Maybe the other Pat had a daughter. Might phone Dave later tonight. Jean.

like i said jean if she runs the fox now she must have come full cirlcle from the fox bout 30yrs ago then the pelican i think a stint a the church tavern gt hampton st. tried it in america and came back. dont think she had a daughter. she did have a son about 20 years ago. the was the last i saw of her. ttfn. wales.

My fond memories of the pub are in 81, i was running the pub then on relief.
Prince Charles married Lady Diana while we were there, frequent visitors to the pub were Duran Duran. It was just after the Ansells beer strike, when i took over the pub the cellar was full with hundreds of empty foreign barrels.
