Astonian

gone but not forgotten
Hi Guys
Late last night i was watching the birmingham choir doumentry ;and how this guy went to the council to select people for a choir
i enjoyed it seeing how he selected them and seeing sites around brum and one building that caught my eye and struck my mind was it showed a building they went into to practice ; which was the rev john powers bulding ; and as i recall rev john powers from st johns chutch ladywood also my wife recalls him as she was brought right up next to the church in oseler street and clarke street ladywood and also he conducted my brothers funeral
So can you tell me is this the same guy the bulding was named after and where about in brum is this building please
Astonian;; Alan ;;;;;;;

Re: john powers building birmingham

I think the person you are thinking of is the rev Norman Power. He was vicar at St John's in the 60's. He did a lot of good work for the people of Ladywood.

Re: john powers building birmingham

I agree John but was not aware he had a building named after him. Canon Norman Power was a friend of my late wife's Aunt.

OK think this may be the place but welcome any confirmation -
