Does anyone have memories of this pub from the mid to late sixties. From what I remember, it opened in early 1966 and boasted the longest bar in Europe! Some top bands performed there, including Cream, what a night that must have been!

Frank, Type "The Swan Pub" into search at top right of the page and you will get lots of info. Len.

I used the New Swan infrequently, mostly it would be in the function room for a Dinner Dance. It was quite a good room and they didn't do a bad meal. Certainly no worse than other types of similar venue. On the whole it wasn't too bad a pub. Perhaps it was just too large for the times.

It was one of those pubs you'd visit just to see the longest bar in england.
When I worked in the Tysley Brit some of the younger element would use it for the odd night out, they'd start in the Brit, then hit the Swan and the New Inns.Possibly adding the Wagon and Horses as well.
It couldn't have been so popular, because soon after Phil's 1990 pic was taken it closed.Probally just too big,as he said.

I went to see "The Nice" in the late 1960's. It cost 10/- which was a lot of money to go to a concert and have to stand up too!
