The Nechells Flyer

I've just discovered whilst researching my family tree that a relative Frederick Hopton died at the Nechells Power Station in Jan 1950.
 
Hi, does anyone know if the GEC in Witton built any of the generators for Nechells Power Station......I'm guessing not the early ones- but perhaps some of the later additions??

Some of the photos must have been taken in the early 70's as the older 'A' power station was then being demolished.
Also can be seen in the backgrounds of some of the photos,are the M6 motorway near Spaghetti Junction,and Nechells Gas Works.

my dad roy kent worked at nechells power station for 27 yrs he loved it there had some great stories
