the may pole pub

Astonian

gone but not forgotten
hi pub crawlers
does any body recall the may pole pub ,
it was a big pub on the alcester road it was the next pub past
the horse shoe pub which is just up past bell lane
i think there is a sainburys super store now
as i remember correctly and it was ran by a young couple
whom was in my team and they came to dublin with us
there was about thirty of us
we went to try and get some ideas on how the irish ran there
pub bars over there , but judging the merits of what i have
seen it was a complete waste of time on our part
our brewery never implemented any of it
have a nice day every body best wishes asronian ;;;

Hi Astonian

I,m afraid the maypole was demolished several years ago after being boarded up for some time even though it was a listed building. There is a hotel on the site now:(.

I used to drink in there in the 70,s it was a big pub with several rooms until the brewery knocked them into one unmanageable room

Paul it was the terminus for the buses running along the Alcester and Moseley Roads. 48 and 50 rings a bell.
