The Kingshurst.

My family lived at 226 Fordbridge Road in the 1960s before we did the short hop to Auckland Drive in Chelmsley Wood's area 10 when it was brand new. My dad worked as a barman at The Kingshurst. I am not sure exactly when or for how long but it would have been around 1964-68. His name was Jim Baker.
 
The last time I was in The Kingshurst was abt 1975. My nearest pub was The Punch Bowl. The Kingshurst, The Mountford all gone. The Punch Bowl has been replaced with abt a dozen new houses. A relative took me a photo last week. Certainly doesn't fit in with surrounding houses. So nearest pub is Toby Jug or The Cent. Real shame these pubs have gone. Some history in all of them...

Memories, I went to Fordingbridge infants abt 1961. Still in touch with my mate since the age of 4..
