The Gunmakers Arms, Bath Street

I get it.now. did not realise that was meant to be the name. I suppose its a bit better than the cockroach and avocado, , though does have a somewhat pretentious tone.

Amazing that it was up for sale for as little as £80,000. Nice it's been kept open, hopefully when they eventually stop knocking everything down in the area and digging up the surrounding roads, there will be enough business for "The Pike & Musket" and The Bull, to both thrive alongside each other once again.

thanks sparks...i have to say that i admire this new venture and wish them well and to give the proceeds of any artwork sold to the childrens hospital is fantastic...the owner of the gunmakers is at least doing something new to try and keep this historic pub open which is more than can be said for the owners of the the crown pub in station street where black sabbath played their first proper gig and many other bands appeared...the crown still lies empty except for their illegal car park

He sounded so positive six months ago, it seems that didn't last too long though. Sad to see it closed again, but pubs are not well supported by the local residents and the government seem content to ignore the publicans plight. I guess there just wasn't enough willing customers to support two pubs within so short a walking distance. The Bull stands alone now, where once it was one of several thriving concerns. Let's all give it our support, when we are able.
