hi all..i am trying to confirm that in 1925 there was not a pub called the globe in hospital st..

many thanks...

lyn:)

the globe was notinhospital streeti am sure
i can visulize the pub now but for the love nor money i cannot think of the streetits on and its on a corner as i left brum that long now i just cannot think of the street
the road i have in mind is or was just oppersite cliveland street coming out of cliveland st cross over the main newtown rd to the rd facing on your left there is or was a midland counties depot which was used for the storage yard for the commercial shops for there milk my eldest brother was the forman there before they moved to king standing rd that was on the first corner turn emediately left and on that first corneron your left was the globe pub a very old pub ,never been changed since it was open best wishes astonian;;

cheers alf...yep thats it ..blews st/manchester st...off newtown row..the 1925 electoral roll has it down as in hospital st but as astonion agrees i am sure there was not a globe there...may be a misprint on the rolls...

I'm sure it was on the corner of Blews St & New John Street and I used to go there on a Saturday Evening with my Sister & Brother in Law in the 1960s
They used to lock you in sometimes nudge nudge wink wink:D

Elkington St School is on the opposite corner :)

lol alf..you must be missing my posts....

the globe was and still is very much up and running..

its on the corner of manchester st.(thats the next one down from pritchet st) and the corner of blews st....

Sorry, perhaps should have put it on this thread. Post 19 on the "look up please" thread gives electoral roll of 1930 showing no 61 hospital st as The Globe

Blews St runs to New John St, Manchester St runs into Blews St according to my A to Z.
I didn't miss your post I knew it was there and up and running someone said on the Forum months ago.
