hi folks...well i am chuffed to bits as a friend has found me these pics of the globe inn where our dad was born in 1929...such a sad story as you will read about how on the that fateful day when the landlord was trying to get a community sing song up a bomb totally wiped out the pub...the first one looks like a drawing but none the less it shows just how large the pub was...dont know why but i imagined it to be a tiny little pub...the other one is a photo i think which is not good quality and i am trying to find out who took it as i maybe able to get a better copy...been searching a long time for this one but as i always say they are out there somewhere...should be able to read the info if clicked on twice..

Hi Lyn

This is a photo of The Globe that I have, I don't know if it's the same as one of the ones you posted.

hi moss yes thanks we had a nice quiet christmas and i got to talk to our rachel a couple of times which was great...many thanks moss for reposting those images..pretty sure the first one is a drawing but i have a feeling that the bomb damage one is a very grainy photograph...would still love a really good one of this pub so if anyone finds one i would be overjoyed to see it...strange to think that just 11 years before the globe was bombed out our dad was born there...he will be 84 on new years day...

thanks phil but thats the globe on the corner of blews st and manchester st...its still up and running but up for sale at the min...

thanks again moss...
