The Eagle & Tun Public House was a late 19th Century Public House built to replace an earlier structure.
When it was demolished as part of the HS 2 works, the question was raised with those undertaking the Archeology of the HS 2 route to be seen what remained of the original foundations, but they seemed to have other schemes in hand.
The pub that remained had a use as a music venue, and was also used by some of the staff that worked at the nearby British Rail Parcels Depot.

The 50 in map ordnance survey 1888 shows the Eagle & Tun as it evidently was facing Banbury Street
